Humans tend to forget it when we do bad things to others. For instance, we usually say we forget that we have to adhere to some rules and principles before doing something, or that nobody told or advise us on how to do things. We find it easier blaming others, for in that temporary moment we feel as if we are not guilty of any offences.
Days gone by, and by the time our past mistakes began haunting us, we get defensive unnecessarily. We begin reading things that will make us feel good, we get into the dementia cocoon and began making ourselves believe that the whole world has a bad intention against us, and that we are often and forever the innocent party. As in the case of Ahkak Puaka in KFCM saga, the writer turned to blog to discredit the former fiance.
Somebody I met reminded me of dementia. Dementia coupled with superiority complex, leaving one wandering in the quest to find the raison d'etre in this wide world. Who are we to lie to Allah swt? Who are we to pretend to be someone we are not? Who are we to deny Allah's power to reveal our true colour? Who are we to think that we know best?
Life is a long lesson in humility. Dementia make some people forget the people they meet on their way up cause they think that they will never come down. Either way, I'll see you when I see you, up or down.
